‘AC malfunction may have led to warship blast in Mumbai’

The three Indian Navy sailors who were killed in the explosion on board the Rajput-class destroyer, INS Ranvir, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Tuesday were taking a nap during a work break when the incident took place, said Colaba police. Prima facie, the blast occurred due to a malfunction in the warship air-conditioning compartment ‘possibly linked to Freon gas leak’, said a source.
