BJP MP asks govt to scrap newsprint import duty

The sharp increase in input costs and mounting losses, BJP MP Sushil Modi said, are making newspaper businesses increasingly unviable. He pointed to domestic difficulties in newsprint production and said many traditional newsprint manufacturers are converting their mills to produce packaging materials.
