HC stays lower court remarks on Assam cops in Mevani case

The Gauhati HC, acting on an appeal by the Assam government, stayed on Monday a district judge’s observations against the state police made last week while granting bail to Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani in a case involving the alleged assault of a policewoman.
