Petrol, diesel prices may be cut by up to Rs 2

The reduction, as and when it comes, will be the first since May 22 when the Centre had cut excise duty by on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 and Rs 6, respectively, to cushion consumers as oil prices spiked to record levels in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
