New York animal control officer held for selling 'Hope'

Scott Casterline, a New York state animal control officer, has been arrested for allegedly selling a stolen pet, a Yorkshire terrier named Hope, instead of reuniting her with her owners. Casterline falsely informed the owners that the dog had died. Hope was later found residing with a different family in Ohio. Casterline is facing charges related to this incident, including official misconduct and misappropriation of property. The original owners expressed their happiness at being reunited with their pet.
