Para-athletes make history with record 111-medal haul at Asiad

India's differently abled athletes made history at the Para Asian Games in Hangzhou, winning a record-breaking 111 medals, including 29 gold. This surpassed India's previous highest medal tally in any major multisport event. The athletes' success reflects the government's support through initiatives such as the Khelo India scheme and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme. The Paralympic Committee of India president expressed hope that the country's para-athletes will achieve even greater success at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
