Govt in SC for open-court hearing of review of Benami law judgment

The SC agreed to consider the Centre’s submissions for an open court hearing of its plea seeking review of the judgment by which several provisions of the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amendment Act, 2016 were struck down. Study: More cold wave days in India in recent decade

India may have seen a number of record-breaking warm years in the recent decades, but there has been no let-up in the extreme cold waves in the country despite global warming, an IITM study has indicated. High Court steps in, Telangana govt and governor reach a deal

After being at loggerheads for nearly two years, governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and the state government arrived at a compromise on Monday thanks to the intervention of the Telangana high court.
